Lately

Last weekend Amanda and I went down south to Keetmanshoop to drop off a team and visit with our friends at the ark there. It was good to just catch up on what is going on down there and see the improvements at the ark. We drove back on Sunday afternoon after church and we made it just in time for the world cup final (we missed both regular time goals).
Wednesday was a busy day. We had kid’s club at Hodygos (the YFC training center) and about 30 kids showed up. Didn’t get to stay for the club but had to get them home later in the afternoon. I have never had so many people in one car :). We made it to 5 Rand where we dropped off the kids and then went home. In the morning I received news that one of my friend’s dad had passed away that morning in India. Please keep Mokshaa and her family in your prayers as they go through a very difficult time. In the afternoon, we also ventured to the Okahandja hospital which usually is visit full of surprises. We were supposedly just picking up one of the patients who was getting a drip and would be done in no time. Well, we walked in there and had to wait for 15 mins or so. Then came the interesting part- apparently this fellow wasn’t so happy with the whole scenery (that’s only a guess because he hasn’t been able to say anything for more than a year- and who likes to be in a hospital for treatment every other week?!! ), and showed that by throwing a fit when we were about to carry him to the car and take him home. We had to hold him for about 30 mins before a doctor showed up and gave him a tranquilizer that took about 15 mins to take effect. We were able to take him home and hopefully he slept well last night.
As I write this, I am getting ready to go up to Otjiwarongo, a town 2 hrs away from Okahandja, to play with cheetahs (how cool is that!). hopefully will get some good pictures and be able to post them sometime soon.

Grace and peace!
